Research interests
The overall goal of our research is to understand the molecular and cellular basis of host defense and immunoinflammatory processes that contribute to disease in various surgical stress. The results of our research have considerably advanced knowledge of the causal role of cytokines and chemokines in both infectious and non-infectious inflammation and unraveled key mechanisms that control how these potent biological response modifiers communicate to modulate cellular function and how this translates into altered behavior. Since relocating to Fujita Health University and with the support of JSPS funding the focus of our work has continued in this area.
