Terms and Conditions

For smooth processing of the desired collaborative environment that Espial aims to foster we need to clarify the duties of members involved in the whole process of journal publication. Each member is humbly requested to respect and abide by the guideline prescribed below:

  • Role of the Editor

Decision on the Publication of Articles

The Editor in Chief of each Journal has the final authority to determine if the article is good enough to be published or not. Yet the procedure may be carried out by taking into consideration the opinion of other editors or reviewers.

    Selection of Editor in Chief

The Editor in Chief is selected on grounds of wider experience and must follow the policies of the journal’s editorial board. All members of the editorial board along with reviewers are recommended to show keen participation in terms of the legal requirements of manuscript submission such as libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.

    Fair Judgment

Evaluation of manuscript is done on standard of the content presented. There is no discrimination with respect to authors’ race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy. The document is judged on the basis of its intellectual merit.

    Confidentiality

The submitted manuscript remains safe in the hands of the reviewers and editors since no one is allowed to disclose any information about it once sent. Consent of Author

We do not publish anything without the consent of the author. The material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by anyone who views it during its processing. The author will be asked to give written consent in case he or she wants to allow someone to use the material of the manuscript.

  • Duties of Reviewers

    Peer Review

Each reviewer must review the journal diligently and check that the manuscript fulfills the journal’s overall criteria. Remember that each reviewer is very significant for providing quality assistance to the editorial board. The needful comments of a reviewer can be of great help to the author for improving their paper.

    Notification

A referee who feels to be unsuitable for the review of the assigned manuscript or thinks that he or she would not be able to provide a timely feedback should notify immediately so that review process can be accomplished well in time.

    Confidentiality

The reviewers should not disclose the documents to anyone but the Editor. Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

    Fair Opinion

In case of any objection upon the material enclosed in the document, reason for disapproval must be stated clearly with supporting argument. Please avoid unnecessary criticism and make sure the judgments are made objectively without intrusion of any personal bias.

    No Plagiarism

Reviewers must look carefully for the authenticity of the paper. In case the author has not been able to provide citation of any statement that has been reported elsewhere, the reviewer should ensure that citation has been provided. There is no space for plagiarized work in our journals.

    Affiliation

Reviewers are not supposed to review papers of such authors with whom they have some sort of affiliation. There is no space for personal favours and connections since the review process is completed with full professional spirit.

  • Responsibilities of the Author

    Authorship of the Paper

In case of multiple authorship of the paper their names appear as co-authors. These must be people who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. In cases of those who showed significant participation in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.

    Originality and Plagiarism

Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original work and that it has not been sent elsewhere for publication. In case the authors have used the work and/or words of others it must be appropriately cited or quoted.

    Corresponding Author

Corresponding author is the author responsible for communicating with the journal for publication. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

    Reporting standards

In case of reporting on a paper please make sure that the discussion is objective and contains sufficient detail of the work presented. Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance.

    Record of Data

Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review; hence they should be in a position to provide the data in case it is demanded. It is ensured that the data provided will not be misused and the sole purpose of its demand would be for a better review only. The authors are requested to retain the raw data for a reasonable time even after the publication of their paper

    Mutual Collaboration

In case the author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is his or her obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

    Acknowledgment of Funding Sources

In case the research has been funded, it must be duly acknowledged at the end of the article and sources of funding must be mentioned.
